Redcurrant Jobs is an employment agency that operates a secure candidate database. Their primary purpose is to assist job seekers in finding permanent roles and temporary assignments. Redcurrant support businesses with their permanent and temporary recruitment needs and candidate search. At Redcurrant, your privacy is important to us and we will do all we can to ensure all personal information obtained will be used in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which came into force 25 May 2018. We will only therefore use your data in accordance with the following policy:
1. Jobseekers and Candidates
(1.1) Types of Personal Information we may hold on you
When you register with us as a candidate you will be prompted to provide us with personal details. We classify personal details as any piece of data which may identify you as an individual. Examples of personal information we hold include but may not be limited to your:
• Details that may identify you such as your name and photo
• Contact details (address, email, telephone numbers)
• CV and personal information held therein
• Cover letter
(1.2) Purpose of processing and how we obtain your personal information
During the registration process all of our prospective candidates can consent to providing us with their personal information such as name, email address and CV. Redcurrant process this personal information for the legitimate interest of recruitment and providing work-finding services and/or information relating to roles relevant to you. If you do not wish us to collect personal information on you please do not provide it.
(1.3) How can I manage or have deleted the personal information you hold on me
You have a right to:
• View at any time the personal data we hold for you
• Have rectified any personal data we hold if for example it is inaccurate or needs updating.
• Request that we stop processing your personal data and have your personal details removed from our database.
• Be forgotten
(1.3.1) To update your CV and manage your personal information:
Please note you are responsible for keeping your personal information up to-date and we cannot be held responsible for any eventuality of your personal information being inaccurate. To update your CV or rectify any personal data we hold for you, please sign into your account on Redcurrantjobs.co.uk and edit your information. From there you can make any necessary changes and save the updates.
If you find any issue in updating your personal information please contact us at admin@redcurrantjobs.co.uk and we will endeavour to assist you.
(1.3.2) To request we delete your data:
If you no longer wish for us to process your personal data and would like to close down your candidate account then please write to us with your request. You can email your request to admin@redcurrantjobs.co.uk or send it to our postal address - 43a Chertsey Road, Woking, Surrey, GU21 5AJ. We will deal with your request within 1 month of receiving your request.
Please be aware: If your account is terminated then all of your account information including your CV, profile, cover letter and job application records will be irretrievably removed from our database.
You should also be aware that when applying to any job vacancy through Red, your personal information may be shared with the 3rd party employer in question. This employer may still retain your personal information within their records even when you have requested to be removed from Redcurrant database. You may therefore want to contact them independently to request any possible information they hold on you is also removed.
If you register as a temp / agency worker with Redcurrant, your personal details will not be shared with any 3rd party employer without your explicit consent. If you do not wish your details to be shared with another employer, please do not give us your consent.
(1.4) Who do we share your personal information with and by what means
For added protection of your personal data, Redcurrant make it a requirement of our terms and conditions that any third party employer or recruiter using our services does so for recruitment purposes only and any subsequent processing of your personal data is done in full abidance of GDPR data protection regulations.
Redcurrant may share your personal information with employers and recruiters if you apply to a job.
(1.4.1) You apply to a job
Redcurrant do not name the employer they are representing in any advertising but the specific employer will be named and revealed and your explicit consent given prior to submitting your application. Relevant personal information will be supplied to the specific 3rd party employer so that they can make an informed decision about your application. You will be informed at each stage of the recruitment process what information is shared and your consent will be sought.
(1.5) How long will you store my personal information for
You will have access to the data we hold for you on Redcurrant for as long as you require us to keep it for work-finding services. Our data retention policy with regards to your personal data is as follows:
• Profile + CV
If your account shows a prolonged period of inactivity then we will write to you asking for consent to keep your account open. You have 1 month with which to respond to our request. If we do not receive your consent then we will delete your account and thereby cease processing your personal information.
(1.6) Marketing Services and Communications
Redcurrant will communicate relevant job opportunities to you if you have opted to remain on our database. If you no longer wish to receive job information, please use the unsubscribe link included with all our mail.
(1.7) What steps do you take to keep my personal information safe
• Redcurrant use a cloud based database company called Chameleon I who are fully GDPR compliant.
• The security of customer data has, and always will be, taken extremely seriously by Chameleon I. Their hosting provider for Live Products and Services is a Tier 1 ISO who provides industry-leading security and has a long list of internationally recognised certifications and accreditation’s including: ISO 27001 for information security, ISO 9001 for quality management systems, ISO 27017 for cloud security, ISO 27018 for cloud privacy, SOC 1, SOC 2 and SOC 3, PCI Level 1, The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) and multiple Microsoft accreditation’s plus many others. Their identity is available on request to registered clients.
• All customer data is backed up at regular intervals and stored in two alternative locations within the EU at all times, as per AWS recommended guidelines. Finally, security and performance tests are carried out at regular intervals to ensure the smooth running of the service.

In the capacity of data processor, Redcurrant fully abides by the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and has received consent from each of the candidates to process their data and to have their personally identifiable information made available to named employers and recruiters for recruitment purposes.
Contact with a candidate should be strictly via the recruitment agency during the interview process and only at the stage of formal job offer and acceptance of that offer, will the candidate’s personal contact information be provided. This information is provided to the company on the basis that they will become the employer of the candidate and will therefore legally require their personal information. You must not use this personal data for any other reason than that of employment.
It is important for you to realise that in processing the candidate’s data you as the employer are acting as a data controller and need also to abide by the GDPR. Redcurrant will therefore share candidates personal data with you on the basis that you agree to fully abide by the following rules:
• You obtain your own GDPR compliant consent from the candidate in order that you may process their information
• You only ask a candidate for information that is necessary and relevant for the performance of the job role you are recruiting for
• You do not share the candidate’s personal information with a third party without the candidate’s express consent
• You only store the candidate’s details on your ATS (applicant tracking system) or talent database with their express consent
• You have checked that any 3rd party ATS you use is fully compliant with GDPR
• You only keep the candidate’s data for as long as is necessary
• If you plan to gather more information about a candidate (i.e. screen their social media profile) as part of your screening process then you need to explain that explicitly and detail how and why
If you cannot abide by each of these requirements then please do not use our services.
