Spa Manager- Full Time - PermanentLocation:Lavenham, Suffolk
Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 per year
We are looking for a dynamic and hands-on individual with strong leadership skills, excellent commercial awareness, and a genuine passion for wellness and exceptional guest experiences. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a luxury hospitality environment and can inspire a team while driving business performance.
The spa is an award-winning boutique destination offering a calm, exclusive environment with a no-rush, no-crowd philosophy. Facilities include treatment rooms, relaxation lounges, thermal experiences, and an outdoor vitality pool, alongside a treatment menu focused on holistic wellbeing and beauty therapies.
This is a hands-on management role, and applicants must be confident delivering both holistic and beauty maintenance treatments while supporting the team operationally when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the spa, ensuring exceptional guest experiences
- Lead, motivate, and develop therapists and front-of-house team members
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, rotas, performance reviews, and team development
- Monitor stock control, ordering, and cost management in line with budgets
- Drive revenue through promotions, memberships, retail sales, and guest retention initiatives
- Maintain high treatment standards through ongoing training and coaching
- Monitor payroll, budgets, and financial performance targets
- Build and maintain a loyal client base through excellent customer service
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, health & safety, and regulatory compliance
- Professionally manage guest feedback and resolve issues proactively
- Participate in the hotel Duty Management rota, supporting wider hotel operations when required
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in spa, wellness, or luxury hospitality management
- NVQ Level 2 & 3 Beauty Therapy (or equivalent)
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Hands-on experience in holistic therapies including massage, facials, aromatherapy, and body treatments
- Competence in beauty maintenance treatments such as waxing, manicure, and pedicure
- Ability to support, coach, and assess therapists across multiple treatment areas
- Commercial awareness with experience driving retail and treatment revenue
- Strong organisational and operational management skills
